Policy Statements

Environmental:

Cargotec UK recognises that day-to-day operations can impact both directly and indirectly on the environment.  We aim to protect and continually improve through good management and by adopting best practice wherever possible.

Cargotec UK will work to integrate environmental considerations into our business and adopt greener alternatives wherever possible, throughout our organisation.

In our day-to-day activities Cargotec UK aim to;
a)     Comply fully with all relevant Environmental legal requirements, codes of practice and regulations.
b)     Prevent pollution to land, air and water.
c)     Establish objectives and targets to measure the continual improvement of our environmental performance.  Our environmental objectives will include, but not be limited to, the following;
     i.     Reduction in energy usage.
     ii.    Improve the environmental efficiency of our transport and travel.
     iii.   Identify and manage environmental risks and hazards.
     iv.   Provide suitable training to enable employees to deal with their specific areas of environmental control.

This policy and the obligations and responsibilities required by the Environmental Management System have been communicated to all employees.

This Environmental Policy is available to the general public and interested parties on request.

Quality:

The Cargotec UK quality policy is to achieve sustained, profitable growth by providing services and products which consistently satisfy the needs and expectations of its customers.

This level of quality is achieved through adoption of a system of procedures that reflect the competence of the Company to existing customers' requirements, potential customers' expectations, and independent auditing authorities.

Achievement of this policy involves all staff, who are individually responsible for the quality of their own work, resulting in a continually improving working environment for all.

To achieve and maintain the required level of assurance the Managing Director retains responsibility for the Quality System with routine operation controlled by the Quality Manager.

The objectives of the Quality Management System are:
a)     To maintain an effective Quality Management System complying with the ISO9001 Quality Management standard.
b)     To achieve and continually improve a level of quality which enhances the Company's reputation with customers.
c)     To ensure compliance with relevant statutory and safety requirements and
d)     To endeavour, at all times to maximise customer satisfaction with the services provided by Cargotec UK Systems.

Health and Safety:

It is an important duty of this Company, in the conduct of its business operations, to ensure a safe and healthy working environment for all its employees.  The Company accepts the fact that this implies the corresponding duty of ensuring that the necessary organisaton, equipment and training are provided to fulfil this obligation.  An effective health and safety policy requires the full collaboration and co-operation of all employees and therefore, everybody is asked to read this document and accept their own personal responsibility for Health and Safety at work.

It is the responsibility of Management and Supervisors;
a)     To promote the spirit and the letter of the principles and provisions incorporated in the relevant legislation.
b)     To ensure that safe systems of work and safe working environments exist.
c)     To ensure adequately trained and competent resources are made available to ensure the success of this policy.
d)     By consultation and joint involvement of management and employees, to enlist the active interest, participation and support of employees in promoting good standards of Health and Safety at work.
e)     To ensure that all concerned are fully aware of their own personal responsibilities for Health and Safety at Work.
f)     To ensure the continual improvement of the Health & Safety standards at the company.

It is the responsibility of every employee;
a)     To take all reasonable care for the health and safety of themselves and of fellow employees and to report any hazard which cannot be controlled personally.
b)     To co-operate with the Company by observing safety rules and complying with any measures designed to ensure a safe and healthy working environment.

The Managing Director accepts ultimate responsibility for Health and Safety within the Company as a whole.  All Management, Supervision and employees generally are expected to support and implement this policy whole-heartedly.

The Policy and procedures will be reviewed at least annually by the Management Team.
